After sharing the lead for two days, Scott Canterbury sealed the win on Douglas Lake on the National Pro Fishing League stop, with a series of clutch decisions and a dialed-in shallow-water game—anchored by his confidence in Epic Baits Tungsten.
Canterbury committed early in practice to a 3- to 5-mile stretch filled with bushes and
debris mats. “I marked anything with 4 to 7 feet of water that just looked right,” he said.
On the final day, changing conditions pushed fish tight to cover, and everywhere he had
marked earlier in the week produced bites.
Rotating through 20+ spots, Canterbury leaned on a Khaotic Custom Rod setup, flipping
a Dirty Jigs Flipping Jig and a Reaction Innovations Beaver—rigged with a Spearpoint
Flipping Hook and Epic Baits Tungsten weight. The compact profile and sensitivity of
Epic's tungsten gave him the confidence to pick apart shallow cover with precision.
“That 5-pounder and 3.5-pounder first thing Saturday morning really got me going. I
kept it honest and was rewarded,” he said.
Canterbury also credited Fishlife’s First Aid and Livewell Treatments for keeping his fish
healthy throughout the event. But ultimately, it was clean execution and smart
adjustments, powered by Epic Tungsten, that brought it home.
